January, 2024 — A New Year.

Over 20 years ago we pivoted our business to focus on eco-friendly options in the world of print. This has been a road of discovery, testing, searching and discarding. We’ve fallen in love with various stocks and then, as information developed and we learned more, stopped providing some of those stocks. We thought Fiberstone/Stonepaper/Lizardpaper/Rockpaper was great and then we decided it wasn’t. So we stopped. We sold wheat paper but the company that produced it went out of business. We sold a white EarthFirstPLA until the producer discontinued it and offered only clear PLA.

Now we’re pursuing a compostable stock that can breakdown in water without toxic residue, hopefully it will come onto the market this year.

I’m excited to add Allie to our family, she’ll be in sales.

Our message and search for better and best hasn’t changed. We’re grateful to all of our clients for pushing us and supporting this endeavor. My hope is to see a plethora of new sustainable products to offer you this year.

July 2023

This year innovation and offering alternatives to plastic has come to the forefront of our ethos. The use of plastic for short-term temporary use applications is ripe for change. It’s easy to make the jump from plastic to more environmentally friendly options.

Instead of plastic wristbands we have developed two fantastic alternatives: 100% Recycled Paper and a Certified Compostable stock.

Instead of plastic sticker name badges we offer sticker badges made of dissolvable wood cellulose.

January 2023

Covid has subsided and we here in the USA have picked up the pieces and moved onward. But it’s impact is still causing supply, cost and labor issues.

2022 was crazy: Even though our Compostable earthfirstPLA and recycled paper stocks are manufactured in the USA we still had issues which caused delays with our normally quick turnaround. I’m grateful to all of our clients for their patience and flexibility to accept the compostable earthfirstPLA when our distributors couldn’t supply us with our recycled paper label stock AND to accept the recycled paper stock when we had manufacturing delays with our dissolvable label stock.

We’re happy to have a good inventory of the earthfirstPLA compostable with a compostable adhesive as well as the 100% recycled papers. It’s been exciting to see so many Museums and Hospitals adopting our dissolvable temporary sticker badges.

I continue to push the manufacturers to make a less expensive recycled and recyclable liner for all of our labels. As our business grows I’m hopeful we can leverage the quantities we buy to bring about change in the liner business. While we do have a liner and label that is recycled and recyclable it remains too expensive for most of our clients. It’s ridiculous 95% of all liners on All labels are not on an easily recyclable non-silcone-backed paper. Speaking of recycling, I’m hopeful the coming year brings action on a Nationwide Waste Management plan. Our government needs to make this happen on a national basis or it will always be piece meal and excessively expensive.
